We have pleasure in confirming the successful commissioning of the Milton Keynes Remodelling Scheme over the Christmas Break. In excess of 400 staff from the various stakeholders worked over the Christmas period through sub-zero temperatures to bring the new station alignment and Signal Control System into Operation. 
Following 18 months of design and successful enabling stage works by Signalling Solutions, the existing interlocking at Bletchley was signed out of use at the start of the commissioning, and works commenced to transfer control of the Milton Keynes Area over to three new Alstom SSI interlockings at Rugby SCC.
The new signalling system comprising of 64 LED Signals, 108 Axle Counter Sections, 56 New Locations and 200km of new cabling which was brought into full use in the 100 hour possession.
The new station is now in full use by the operator giving greater diversity, line speeds and reliability.
