We have a number of important, exciting and challenging projects currently in the delivery cycle.
Our core projects are based around the delivery of the products and services that are detailed on this website. A key component is our Computer Based Interlocking (CBI) - Smartlock 400™, developed and manufactured by parent company Alstom. This can provide the interlocking capability of up to eight of the previous generation product - Solid State Interlocking (SSI).
To date, these projects have been, in the main, major re-signalling projects for our key customer Network Rail. In addition, we have also been delivering multi-functional projects through our parent company partner Balfour Beatty.
However, within the last year, SSL has started projects which are based on the requirements for the railway of the future - introduction of the radio and cab display based European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) and Network Rail's Traffic Management project which will rationalise the control of the UK's main line rail network.
Signalling in CP5 will be an exciting and innovative experience and our work on two of the most prestigious projects - Crossrail and Great Western main line upgrade for interlocking renewal and ETCS overlay - puts us at the very heart of the challenges ahead!
